Anita and her team were an absolute dream to work with for my wedding hair and makeup. From our very first makeup trial, I already knew we were a match. She truly listened, understood the look I was going for, and made sure every detail reflected how I wanted to feel on my wedding day!!!!!! She was incredibly easy to work with and always prompt, thoughtful, and professional in all our email exchanges leading up to the wedding. I never once felt rushed or unsure cause really she made sure everything was clear, organized, and well-coordinated, especially considering that her team also took care of my entire entourage. On the wedding day itself, Anita arrived early and fully prepared. She created such a calm and reassuring energy while prepping me, which honestly made a huge difference. Watching her work felt like witnessing pure magic!!! For reals. My makeup lasted beautifully throughout the day and night, survived the dancing and all the wild energy!!! and I still felt like me, just elevated ;) I’m truuuuly grateful to have had Anita as part of such an important day. Her talent, professionalism, and genuine care truly set her apart. I just had my bridal hair and makeup trial with Anita and the experience was absolutely nothing but positive. Anita is very responsive, seeks to understand and is always thinking 10 steps ahead. Before my hair and makeup trial, Anita asked for inspo pictures, which she kept on file and confirmed with me on the day-of that my vision remained unchanged. Anita was very welcoming and created a safe space to express any concerns or questions I had right in the moment. During the trial, Anita was able to pivot on the updo I wanted to account for the length of my hair and did a phenomenal job executing what I had in mind as well as providing advice on what would be best to accommodate the veil and other hair accessories. Throughout the trial, Anita did check-ins often to ensure nothing was uncomfortable or hurting, she provided clear instructions on what to look out for (i.e. if the skin feels warm or is burning after application of a product to let her know), how concerns would be addressed, and even had drinks and snacks available! In terms of Anita's hair and makeup skills - definitely 10/10. I kept my updo and makeup on for a total of 7 hours and they withstood very strong winds and rain. Not a single hair was out of place and the makeup was unaffected by the rain. By the end of the evening, the updo still felt as secure as when Anita first did it and the makeup was still vibrant with very minimal transfer or smudging of the eye makeup. There was also very minimal settling of the makeup. Anita's makeup prep was amazing, which led to incredible oil control throughout the evening and the makeup did not feel heavy at all. I still had a dewy glow at the end of the evening without looking oily. Anita also did a tattoo cover-up test and while she did not have the concealer that was needed on hand, the cover-up that she was able to do had minimal transfer for what I will need on the wedding day. Anita checked in with me the day after the trial to see how everything went and how the hair and makeup lasted. In her follow up, Anita also kindly provided a skincare routine for me to ensure my skin is at its best for the big day. If you are looking for a hair and makeup artist that is not only talented, but also friendly, knowledgeable and transparent, don't hesitate to reach out to Anita! POST WEDDING UPDATE: I had to come back and update this review as Anita did a fabulous job on the day-of the wedding! She implemented all the changes and adjustments I had requested during the trial and my wedding makeup was absolutely flawless!! Anita and the team showed up on time despite the start time being very early and got me and 3 other people ready with hair and make up on schedule! Anita graciously waited over an hour to do our touch ups in the evening (which I am still eternally grateful for). I couldn't be happier with my experience and received so many compliments on my hair and make up. My bridal party also commented on Anita's skills and professionalism as well as her team! Anita has been incredible to work with from enquiry through ‘til the day of my wedding. I live in the UK but was having a wedding in Canada, where I’m from, and needed a hair and makeup artist that understands Asian features and tea ceremonies. Interestingly, I’ve gone to school with Anita so was pleasantly surprised when I came across her business page which touched upon all the things I was looking for in a bridal HMU artist. She was communicative and touched base with me throughout the process which filled me with a lot of confidence. I booked a trial as well, which I highly recommend to talk through and try different looks/colours before the actual day. The day of the wedding went amazingly. Anita came early in the morning full of energy and reassurance because I was a bundle of nerves on the day. It helped that I’ve known her for years, but she is genuinely just a lovely person. The hair was exactly what I wanted (maybe better) based on my inspo pics and lasted the whole day, without budging! And my makeup was a dream! I loved how glam I looked without it being over the top. I didn’t feel like I had a lot of makeup on and like my hair, it lasted the whole day. My biggest concern was my oily skin but it did not get oily once - and I had it from 7AM until 3:30AM. I highly recommend booking with Anita for bridal hair and makeup. The entire process was amazing, straightforward and no stress which is what I needed! Anita has been my go to eyebrow tech for years (9 years to be exact). She takes her time and perfects my eyebrows just the way I want it. I never had any complaints.
